History

A family estate based on a clay-limestone terroir in Cuers, in the heart of the Côtes de Provence “Golden Triangle” comprising the communes of Puget Ville, Pierrefeu and Cuers.

The name “LOUIS” was chosen in memory of the estate's founder, Louis Massel.

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyard is managed using the “Agriculture Raisonnée” (sustainable agriculture) method. The Mediterranean climate brings maximum sunshine to the vines planted in very stony soils on a clay matrix typical of the “gavroches”.

Winemaking

The grapes are harvested by hand between sunrise and 10 a.m. to take advantage of the freshness of the berries. The grapes are destemmed and cooled to 8°C. Only free-run and first press juices are used.

The juice is then cold settled for 48 hours. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures.
