On the terroir of the Saint-Tropez peninsula

The estate, which bears the name of the locality, nestles in a cirque at the foot of Gassin, a Var commune of flower-filled lanes and pastel walls, listed as one of the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’, between the Massif des Maures and the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

History

The former owner, Marie-Louise Roux, known as Malyse, gave her nickname to the cuvée, which is bottled in an elegant and original flat bottle. Today, Malyse has passed on her estate to Patrick Valentin, an agronomist by training with a passion for wine.

Vineyards and terroir

Set in a cirque, the vineyard benefits from an exceptional terroir of granite and gneiss and a Mediterranean climate with strong maritime influences, giving it an exceptional ecological entity.

Surface area of vines: 9 hectares

Vinification

The grapes are hand-picked from 4 o'clock in the morning to take advantage of the freshness of the berries.

The grapes are pressed whole and only the free-run juice and the juice from the first press are used to make this cuvée.
