On the terroir of the Saint-Tropez peninsula

A noble château steeped in history... Located in the Massif des Maures in Cogolin, in the heart of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, Château Saint-Maur Cru Classé, built at the end of the 19th century, lies at the heart of a 100-hectare vineyard spread over three parcels. This parcel-based approach means that several grape varieties can be grown to suit the terroir, giving the crus their priceless character.

History

Château Saint-Maur Cru Classé, built at the end of the 19th century, inherited its name from a former monastery established on the estate. A chapel still stands on the estate. This is how Roger Zannier, a wine enthusiast, came to buy this Cru Classé property.

Vineyards and terroir

Château Saint-Maur covers almost 100 hectares of vines in the foothills of the Massif des Maures, including 75 hectares of AOP Côtes de Provence and 23 hectares of IGP Vin de Pays du Var.

Vinification

We approach our wines on a parcel-by-parcel basis. For vinification, a new-generation winery is a major asset in strengthening the quality positioning of the different Crus.
